Microsoft recently added PowerToys to the Microsoft Store on Windows 11. This development came just a few months after introducing the traditional VLC Win32 app to Microsoft Store.
Earlier, PowerToys was available via GitHub, Windows Package Manager (Winget), Chocolatey, and Scoop.

However, PowerToys offers additional features designed for power users to enhance the performance and user-friendliness of Windows.
Generally, PowerToys offers 10 utility programs, including Awake, Color Picker, FancyZones, File Explorer Add-ons, Image Resizer, Keyboard Manager, PowerRename, PowerToys Run, Shortcut Guide, and Video Conference Mute.
PowerToys ‘ entry into Microsoft Store should help improve the visibility of the software. But there’s a caveat.
Download PowerToys through the Microsoft Store:
While you can download PowerToys through the Microsoft Store, you will not get updates for PowerToys through Microsoft Store.
However, PowerToys will manage its updates as other unpackaged Win32 applications.
If you’re using Windows 11, you can download PowerToys from the Microsoft Store right now. You could as well download the program via GitHub in case that’s what you prefer.
Whatever method you choose to install it in, make sure you review our guide to using PowerToys.
