PlayStation Plus Premium Adds New Game

Fans now have access to a library of PS1, PS2, PSP, PS4, and PS5 games, thanks to the release of PS Plus Premium in several countries worldwide. This allows fans to play more contemporary games and some old favourites from the old consoles.

As Sony continues to add titles to the library each month, the response to PS Plus Premium has generally been positive and is likely to stay that way.

For instance, Sony has already stated that Stray will join PS Plus Extra (including PS Plus Premium) in July. Midway through the following month, more Extra and Premium games are anticipated to be announced.

Even though this structure will be advantageous, it seems PS Plus isn’t beyond introducing occasional shadow drops, providing fans many reasons to keep an eye on their library.

As an illustration, North American subscribers to PS Plus Premium can now play a brand-new PSP game without any warning or fanfare. With up-rendering, rewind, quick save, and custom video filter features, Super Stardust Portable can now be found in the classic games section of Premium.

Super Stardust Portable was released on the PSP in November 2008 for those PS Plus Premium members who may not recall it, and the series has had numerous entries on various platforms, such as the PS3 and Vita.

In it, shoot-them-up-style gameplay requires players to protect five planets from brand-new threats. With the two available game modes, arcade and planet, players must engage entire space fleets.

Notably, PS Plus Premium’s PSP section probably has the most significant lack of titles, so it’s good to see that they are trying to fill that gap.

It’s also possible that Sony is still adding games to its PS Plus Premium launch lineup since the recently launched service. In either case, launching a new game unexpectedly is a good fit for such a vast service.

Indeed, as older systems become dated and certain games get stuck on these platforms, worries regarding game preservation have reached an all-time high.

It’s an excellent way to maintain the heyday of gaming that PS Plus Premium offers fans access to such an extensive library of older titles, some of which fell into this trap. PS Plus Extra undoubtedly provides users access to PS4 and PS5 titles, but what elevates Premium to the top rung of the service is its reverence for the past.
