Overwatch 2 Confirms Next PvP Beta Date, and It’ll Be on Consoles This Time

Blizzard launched the first-ever Overwatch 2 PvP beta last month, allowing fans of the hero shooter to see the game’s new 5v5 layout for the first time.

However, the initial Overwatch 2 PvP beta was only open to PC gamers, leaving console gamers out of the fun. That will change with the second Overwatch PvP beta, which now has a definitive start date, console support, and many other features.

According to Blizzard, the next Overwatch 2 PvP beta will take place on Tuesday, June 28th. This isn’t an open beta, so everyone who wants to participate will have to sign up.

Blizzard has stated that sign-ups will begin on June 16, the same day as the Overwatch 2 announcement event. Those who own a PC, PlayStation, or Xbox can participate, while it seems that Switch owners will be shut out.

The exact nature of the upcoming Overwatch 2 PvP beta has yet to be revealed, but additional information will be revealed at the Overwatch 2 reveal event on June 16.

Meanwhile, Blizzard has announced that Junker Queen, the previously unveiled Tank hero, will be available in the test. Fans of Overwatch 2 will also be able to compete on a brand-new map, which is expected to be released on June 16.

When will the next Overwatch 2 beta be released?

  • Tuesday, June 28

On June 16, at 10 a.m. PT, the Overwatch 2 reveal event will begin, and fans will discover much more about the upcoming beta. Other announcements and disclosures might potentially be made there.

Fans of Overwatch 2 will learn more about the upcoming beta, and the Junker Queen animated short will be seen for the first time.

The Junker Queen animated short was shown during the OW2 teaser during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, but fans will soon be able to see it in its entirety.

Animated films for Overwatch have long been a part of the game’s DNA, giving narrative and mythology to the game’s numerous characters and locations.

Blizzard hasn’t produced an Overwatch animated short in years, which is why the new Junker Queen animated short, which will be released on June 16, is so exciting.

With the early access release date for Overwatch 2 approaching, fans can anticipate Blizzard to share more information about the game more frequently.

It’s probable that, in addition to the beta that begins on June 28, there will be more beta testing sessions, maybe even an open beta, so fans should remain tuned.
