Motion Twin Looks to Bring Accessibility: Dead Cells was released in Early Access in 2017 before its official release in 2018 on consoles and PCs.
It is a roguelike, with permadeath, making it more difficult than other games.
Unfortunately, this can turn some people off the game, particularly those who have handicaps.
To make the game accessible to the maximum number of players, Motion Twin, the developer behind Motion Twin, has reached out via Twitter to determine what accessibility options in Dead Cells can be improved.
Motion Twin Looking to Make Dead Cells More Accessible
In the tweet published earlier this morning, Motion Twin said they are looking to create Dead Cells more accessible to players and sought feedback on how to do this.
We’re conducting our research,” the tweet said, “but the best way to find out what’s lacking is to have a dialogue with users.”
A few suggestions made to date include:
- Changing the size and font size and color and changing the color palette to prevent blindness to color.
- Enabling auto-hit.
- Altering to increase the brightness of backgrounds.
- Raising the size of the UI size.
This tweet is just two weeks after the game’s last DLC, The Queen and The Sea, launched.
More and more developers are beginning to incorporate accessibility features into their games.
Popular Games like Last of Us Part II and Ratchet & Clank: A Rift Apart has been praised for accessibility.
This could be what prompted Motion Twin to explore their choice.
