Bharti Airtel MD and CEO for India and South Asia, Gopal Vittal, stated that Airtel has been constructing the financial services portfolio as part of its effort to offer top-quality online services for its clients.

“We are excited to be a part of Axis Bank in this exciting adventure. In this win-win collaboration between the telco and bank, Airtel customers will get access to Axis Bank’s top-of-the-line financial services as well as exclusive benefits. Axis Bank will benefit from Airtel’s robust digital capabilities as well as large distribution footprint,” he said.

The partnership launched the ‘Airtel Axis Bank Credit Card’ that promises cashback and special discounts for cardholders.

This credit card will only be available to those who are eligible Airtel customers via the Airtel Thanks application.

In addition, Axis Bank will leverage Airtel’s messaging platform, video streaming call masking and virtual contact centre solutions to boost its digital capabilities.

This unique collaboration will allow for more significant opportunities for Axis Bank credit and digital financial services for Airtel’s 340 million customers.

“On the other hand, we will leverage Airtel’s widespread reach and services ranging from mobility and DTH to utility bill payments offering our customers the opportunity to maximize value,” Axis Bank CEO and MD Amitabh Chaudhry said.
