Microsoft stated about a year ago that it is developing a game streaming gadget that would allow customers to broadcast games from practically anywhere as part of its Xbox Everywhere effort. According to GamesBeat, the Xbox streaming gadget will be available next year. It will resemble a Roku, Chromecast, or Apple TV device and will be in the style of a stick like the Amazon Fire TV Stick.
By connecting the gadget to a TV or monitor, users will be able to stream cloud games from Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, eliminating the need to purchase an Xbox gaming system. At the 2021 E3 online event, Microsoft hinted at its ambitions for a game-streaming gadget. “We’re also creating standalone streaming devices that you can put into a TV or monitor. If you have a good internet connection, you can stream your Xbox experience,” said Liz Hamren, the company’s CVP of gaming experiences and platforms.
