WhatsApp has been working on a new interface for business accounts. Users will be able to share a short link with customers right from the app. The change has already been made on a new beta version of WhatsApp for Android.
It could be available to WhatsApp Business accounts on iOS as well. People who use WhatsApp for business can now share their profiles through a QR code.
People who use WhatsApp for personal use can also do this. On the other hand, the app lets users make short links to their WhatsApp profiles.
People who keep an eye on WhatsApp betas say the latest version of WhatsApp for Android, 2.22.9.8, includes hints about the look and feel of the new interface. To show the changes that haven’t been made public yet, the website has also shared a few screenshots.
The screenshots show that the QR code button next to the user’s name would be replaced with a new share icon. That icon would open up a new section where users could copy the short link to their profile if they tapped on it, too.
The short link can let people talk to a WhatsApp account without having to save its phone number in their contacts. People who use WhatsApp can start with wa.me and then add their phone number to the end.
The Share Profile section also has an option to share the link to your profile.
WABetaInfo says that the new interface will be for WhatsApp Business accounts only. Even if they have the app, they may not be able to see it.
The availability of changes hasn’t been made clear yet. People who are testing the new version haven’t been able to get it yet, either.
