New independent director announced by NetEase

Grace Hui Tang has been appointed by NetEase as a new independent director, effective July 1, 2022. With her nomination, the business’s board of directors will now consist of six people.

In addition to serving as a director, Ms. Tang will also serve as the chairperson of the board’s compensation, nominating, and audit committees. 

Tang, Alice Cheng, and Joseph Tong make up each of these committees, and Ms. Tang will also be a member of the board’s environmental, social, and governance committee.

Until being appointed, Tang spent more than 30 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers before retiring in 2020. 

Tang has also been a lecturer at Peking University’s Guanghua School of Management since 2009, where she teaches accounting and auditing courses.

NetEase’s board will steer growth and innovation.

Because Diablo Immortal’s release in China was postponed indefinitely, NetEase recently saw a huge decline in its stock price.
