The Rivers of Blood katana isn’t available at the start of the game. You’ll need to make some progress toward the end of the game before you can get it. Make sure you haven’t already killed the Fire Giant.

1. Take a trip toward for Mountaintops of the Giant region.

2. Seek your way to the Church of Repose.

This is located to the far south of the region.

3. Stop the invaders, Bloody Finger Okina.

Make sure you look out for bleeding, and staying away from the bleeding area could be the best choice.

4. Claim your rewards.

If you defeat the invader, you’ll receive the Rivers of Blood Katana alongside the Okina Mask.

Rivers of Blood Katana

The Rivers of Blood Katana does have some stat requirements to be used well. If you want to use it well, you’ll need 12 Strengths, 19 Dexterity, and 20 Magic. 

Bleeding is a passive that comes with it. Corpse Piler’s skill can be very powerful if you can chain the strikes together to do more damage. This katana can only be upgraded with Somber Smithing Stones.
