Continuing this trend, Facebook has also launched the ‘Avatars’ feature recently. Facebook Avatars are a cartoon-like digital representation of yourself. They are very helpful to express yourself more freely.
Earlier, the feature was available in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. Now they have launched them in India. You can use the Avatars in Messengers, comments on posts, and in your stories. And, you can even use it as your display picture (DP). You can use your exclusive Avatar stickers to express yourself instead of using emojis to do that.
Facebook provides you the option to customize your Avatar in any way you want. You can select and change its skin tone, hair, facial features, and clothes to make it look more realistic. How to Create Facebook Avatars?
Creating Facebook Avatars is really simple. The whole procedure is integrated with the main Facebook app for both Android and iOS. Note: You’ll need the latest version of the Facebook app to create Facebook Avatars. If you don’t have it, visit the Play Store or App Store and update the Facebook app to the latest version. Also, note that the Avatars feature is NOT yet available on the Facebook Lite app. So, make sure you are using the main Facebook app.
Steps to Follow to Create Facebook Avatars
Follow these simple steps to create your Facebook Avatar in the simplest manner.
Step-1: Launch the Facebook app on your smartphone. Make sure you are using the latest version. Once the app loads, find the ‘3 horizontal lines’ on the right side of the screen (Bottom-right for Android and Top-right for iOS). Tap on them.
Step-2: Now scroll down, find and tap on ‘See More.’
Step-3: Next, you’ll see the ‘Avatars’ feature, tap on it to proceed.
Step-4: Now you’ll be in the Avatar creation window. First, you’ll have to choose a ‘Skin tone’ for your Avatar. After choosing it, tap on Next.
Step-5: Next, you’ll see the options to fully customize your Avatar in the way you want. You can choose different hairstyles, colors and also beard (for males). For females, you can choose makeup to give your Avatar the right glow. You can also select facial features, the shape of face and body, and outfits.
Choose everything in the way that your Avatar looks the closest to you. After that, tap on the ‘right-tick’ present in the top right corner of the screen.
Step-6: Now you’ll see your completed Avatar in a circled border. You can also use it as your DP later. For now, tap on Next.
Step-7: Facebook will then suggest you use your Avatar in comments as a sticker. Here, tap on Done.
You’ll also be given an option to show off your Avatar in your newsfeed or share it in WhatsApp. If you don’t want to do that, just tap on Skip.

How to Use your Facebook Avatar?
There are many ways for which you can use your Facebook Avatar. You can use it as your DP, use it in Messenger, in comments, or share it in the newsfeed. You can even customize your Avatar from time-to-time and always give it a fresher look. I’ll explain everything below.
Set your Facebook Avatar as your Facebook DP?
You can use your Avatar as your Facebook DP if you want. When you create an Avatar, you’ll be given the option to set it as your DP just after you finish creating it. For that, you have to tap on the ‘Curved arrow’ present on the top right corner. However, if you have missed it, I’ll explain how can you do that. Follow these steps.
Step-1: Launch the Facebook app, find and tap on ‘3 horizontal lines, tap on See More, and then tap on Avatars.
Step-2: Now you’ll see your Avatar on the screen. Tap on the ‘Curved arrow’ present on the top right corner.
Step-3: Next, tap on ‘Set as Profile Picture.’ When Facebook asks for confirmation, confirm your selection.
That’s it. You have now set your Avatar as your profile picture. This will also appear on your newsfeed. Or, you can manually share your Avatar on your Feed by selecting ‘Share to Feed’ on Step-3 above.
Use your Avatar as Stickers in Comments
You can also use your Facebook Avatar as the stickers in the comments you post on Facebook. To learn how to do that, follow these steps.
Step-1: Launch the Facebook app and open any Facebook post on which you want to comment. Now tap on the ‘Avatar’ icon.
Step-2: You’ll see your Avatar stickers here.
Step-3: Just select any Avatar sticker, and tap on the ‘blue arrow’ to post it as your comment.
That’s it. It is really simple but very useful to express yourself better.
Send Avatar Stickers in Messenger
Sending your Avatar stickers to your friends and family members via the Messenger is very simple. Follow these steps to know how to do that.
Step-1: Launch the Facebook app and open any Facebook post on which you want to comment. Now tap on the ‘Avatar’ icon.
Step-2: Tap on the Stickers icon when you are in the Avatar screen.
Step-3: Now you’ll see all the cool stickers of your Avatar.
Step-4: Just choose any sticker and then tap on ‘Send in Messenger.‘
That’s it. Alternatively, you can also use the Messenger app directly to send your Avatar stickers to your friends.
Customize your Facebook Avatar
When you get bored of how your Facebook Avatar looks, you can customize it to give it a fresh look. You don’t have to re-create it again, but you can re-do its features. To do that, just go to the Avatar screen, and tap on the ‘pencil’ icon to edit your Avatar.
Alternatively, you can also ‘Edit your Avatar‘ by going to the Avatar stickers in the comments sticker menu. Customizing your Avatar from time-to-time is highly recommendable.
