Housemarque is sparking something new to give back

There may be something new to Returnal in the near future. Housemarque taunted an image of some kind of rocky creature, saying, “Atropos …?” which is the name of the planet on which Returnal takes place.

Housemarque Senior Narrative Designer Eevi Korhonen retweeted the studio’s teaser and said, “We shot something really amazing today. I hope I can share more soon!”

This may be new content or DLC for Returnal, as the rocky creature does not appear to be seen anywhere in the main game. For now, we are waiting to hear more.

Returnal has seen some updates since it was released exclusively for PlayStation 5 in April. Patch 1.4.0 was released in June, helping to balance the game’s difficulty and fix some bugs.

The latest 2.0 update came out last month and added the ability for players to suspend their progress by closing the game and shutting down their PlayStation 5 system.

A new photo mode was also included. Housemarque is now also part of the PlayStation Studios family after Sony acquired the developer in June.

In GameSpot’s Returnal review, Mike Epstein wrote: “Returnal is constantly haunting and constantly challenging. Its mysterious storyline and demanding action feel intense, urgent and fresh.

The fast-paced combat manages to seem incredibly daunting, bordering on overwhelming, without never really getting second to none. ”
