Elden Ring’s Best Early-Game Weapons: In Elden Ring, you don’t get much help from the game. You’re encouraged to go and look for valuable loot on your own.
There are a lot of weapons in the Lands Between that can give your game a big boost early on.
If you don’t know where to look for them, you may not find them until later on in the game.
You don’t have to be afraid; here to show you the best early game weapons and how to get them in Elden Ring.
Let’s get in there now!
Best Early Game Weapons & How to Get Them in Elden Ring
The best early game weapons in Elden Ring will depend on what kind of character you choose at the start of the game.
We’ll show you a few of them and say what each is best for.
Twinblade
This weapon is an excellent choice for Dex/Str builds because it scales with Dex and doesn’t need too many stats (though you will still need to farm runes and level up before using it).
There are dragon-burnt ruins in Limgrave, just south of where you start at the First Steps Site of Grace.
This is where you will find the ruins. Twinfinite has a very detailed guide on how to find it here.
Reduvia Dagger
This is another good weapon for Dex/Str, as well as for Arcane as well.
The reason for this is that it goes up and down with your Dexterity and your Arcane skills.
When you fight Nejirus outside of the Murkwater Cave, you’ll get the Reduvia dagger as a reward. You can see where it is here.
Meteorite Staff
When you start as a sorcerer, you’ll need the Astrologer’s Staff to cast all the spells you’ll need to get through the early game.
Even when upgraded, it’s not as good as the Meteorite Staff, which is even better.
If you have a lot of Intelligence in your build, this staff can be a huge help. Torrent can help you get there quickly.
It’s a long way from the start of the game in Limgrave, but you can get there soon by riding there. You can see where it is here.
Greataxe
You should start with the hefty Greataxe if you want to build strength. Make sure your build fits around it because it takes many strong points to use. Still, once you meet the requirements, it can be mighty.
Chest: In a compartment on the back of an old wagon, two giants are pulling through Limgrave.
It is just southeast of the Gate front Ruins. Because they’re so big, you can’t miss them! Only one must be killed to stop the carriage and get the chest at the back.
Great Epee
In terms of speed, this Great Epee is a good choice for those who still want to use a shield, which the two-handed Twinblade does not. It’s also easier to use than the Twinblade because of its simple stab and slash moves, making it easier to move around.
You can find it right on the southern tip of Limgrave, east of the Forlorn Hound Evergaol, and it’s right next to it.
There is an enemy camp there, and inside the base is a chest that holds the rapier.
