I have the impression that the person who thought up the concept for Druddigon has a child, and that child has several tubs of Play-Doh.
Someone was given a deadline to reach, and the kid was in the opposite room. Just slap some primary colors on top, and there’s an animal. They can’t all be admirers.
Even if it’s a bit silly, Druddigon is still a dragon and, therefore, an actual threat. In this article, we look at the weaknesses of Druddigon and alternatives in Pokemon GO.
Druddigon is currently one of Pokemon heading into three-star Raids in the Power Plant event, which will run through February 1st.
Contrary to what the PokeDex entry and unkempt appearance could suggest, Druddigon isn’t a Ground-type and is instead an entirely Dragon-type, which means its resistances are like the following:
- Resistant to: Fire Water, Grassand Electric
- It is weak against Dragon, Ice, Fairy
In the meantime, these are the actions Druddigon can make with its kit:
Quick Moves
- Bite (Dark)
- Dragon Tail (Dragon)
Main Moves
- Hyper Beam (Normal)
- Night Slash (Dark)
- Dragon Claw (Dragon)
Druddigon Weaknesses and Counters in Pokemon GO
- Shadow Salamence
- Shadow Dragonite
- Rayquaza
- Galarian Darmanitan
- Shadow Mamos
- Shadow Gardevoir
- Salamence
- Shadow Weavile
- Palkia
- Garchomp
It’s tempting to take on Druddigon by using a stronger Dragon-type such as Salamence Haxorus and Dragonite However; this isn’t the best idea.
Dragons are vulnerable to other Dragons, which means that although Druddigon will be weak to the Dragon’s moves, you’ll also be weak against his.
Moreover, considering Druddigon’s base attack is 213, any decisive blows can be freight trains. So, the best strategy is to strike with the Dragon type’s weakness, Ice.
Ice-types aren’t opposed to any of the Druddigon’s weapons, and, as long as they have enough defense base to stand up to the strength of its normal range, They can compete toe-to-toe with it quite quickly.
Regarding DPS potential, the most effective choice is Galarian Darmanitan, particularly in Zen Forme with Ice Fang and Avalanche.
If you’re looking to play more defensively, you can always turn to Mamoswine, our trusted friend, and Weavile who’s Dark/Ice typing makes it immune to both Drudigon’s Dark moves.
