Chrome OS 100 comes with a new app launcher and more.

A few days ago, Google released the 100th version of its Chrome web browser. This week, Google also updated its Chrome OS platform to version 100.

Chrome OS 100 has a lot of new features and improvements. There are also a new app launcher interface, better search options and the ability to change text with your voice, among other things.

Check out the essential parts of Chrome OS 100 below.

Chrome OS 100 has been released: What’s new with Chrome OS 100?

The new Chrome OS launcher, which is Google’s version of the Windows Start menu, now looks more modern and opens from the side. Before, the Chrome OS launcher was in the middle and extended from the middle (which is now the Start Menu in Windows 11).

The launcher used to be in the upper right corner of the screen. However, Google has now moved it down to the bottom left. The company has also made it easier to search for things on the launcher’s home screen.

In other words, if you search the web for something, you can now get more information right in your launcher UI without having to open up the browser.

You can also now search for open windows or browser tabs in Chrome OS to quickly find the one you want.

The update also lets you change text with your voice. With this feature, you can use your voice to delete a character or word or move the cursor to a new place in Chrome OS.

It works with the Dictation feature in Chrome OS. As a side note, it is essential to note that you will need to turn on the Dictation feature to make changes to texts with your voice.

The new version of Chrome OS, Chrome OS 100, also lets you make short GIFs that can be quickly shared on social media. A GIF mode has been added to the Camera app on the platform. This enables you to record a 5-second video that can turn into a GIF.

More Chrome OS 100 has a lot of features.

Along with these new things, Google has added many things that help students. For example, you can link your school account to Family Link so your kids can access school resources from home.

The new reporting system in Chrome OS 100 also makes it easier for IT admins to manage devices in a company, making it easier to keep track of them. In this system, you can see which devices in an organisation need to be fixed by IT people.

In addition, the new Chrome OS Flex has now started testing. It was first launched as an early access programme. Can try it out from here.

Now that is available to people, it has all of the features discussed. This update didn’t include some of the rumoured features, like animated screen savers and a built-in screen recorder.

We can expect Google to roll them out with minor updates in the next few days.
