Apple Rolls out macOS 12.3 with Universal Control and More Features

Apple Rolls out macOS 12.3: During its Peak Performance event last week, Apple said that it would start releasing new software versions for its iPhone and Mac devices today.

This includes macOS 12.3, tvOS 15.4, watchOS 8.5, iOS 15.4, and iPad OS 15.4. Here’s a look at all the new things that the new Mac OS, tvOS, and watchOS versions offer.

macOS 12.3 Released: What’s New?

Last year, Apple showed off a cool feature called Universal Control for Macs that lets people connect and control multiple Apple devices simultaneously with the same mouse and keyboard.

While the macOS Monterey feature was pushed back last year, it has finally started appearing in the new macOS 12.3 and iPadOS 15.4 updates.

With this feature, you can connect your iPad to your Mac and then use a single trackpad to move files and folders between the two.

There are YouTube videos that show how it works. It’s also a good idea to read our detailed guide on setting up and using Universal Control on Macs and iPads.

According to 9to5Mac, the macOS 12.3 update has a lot of security fixes. One of these fixes is a flaw that allowed apps to “spoof system notifications and the UI” to make phishing attacks, which 9to5Mac says can now be fixed.

The macOS 12.3 update also adds support for more than 40 new emojis, a new Siri voice, dynamic head-tracking for Spatial Audio in the Apple Music app for Macs with M1 chips, and a whole lot more.

Apple tvOS 15.4, watchOS 8.5 Released: What’s New?

Among other things, the new tvOS and watchOS updates bring a lot of new features and changes to Apple TVs and Apple Watches. So, let’s look at them below.

When you get the tvOS 15.4 updates, you can now connect to networks that require more steps, like those in hotel rooms or college dorms.

The company also added a new “Up Next” queue to the Apple TV video player that can be seen from the “Now Playing” screen.

This queue shows what is coming up next. Apple also added back the “Tap to Navigate” feature to the Physical and Motor options, removed. It also changed the Spatial Audio controls on tvOS devices.

As for the new watchOS features, Apple has added the ability to authorize Apple TV purchases and subscriptions with Apple Watch devices, updated the irregular heart rhythm notifications, added Audio hints and haptic feedback for Apple Fitness+ workouts and more.

Another new thing in watchOS 8.6 is more than 14 different new emojis for Apple Watch models.

It is now possible to get the new Mac OS, tv OS and watch OS updates over the air (OTA).

It doesn’t matter what kind of Apple device you have. You can check your Settings page to see if there are any new apps or software you need to download and install, and then you can download and install them.
