WhatsApp Tests Presenting Previews of Documents Sent

WhatsApp will soon allow users to see what content is being shared thanks to the brand new document Preview feature.

It will function similarly to the way users can see the contents of shared documents which was first introduced in the year before.

The quality is currently being trialed using Android beta users.

WhatsApp Introduces a Method to View Documents

The latest WhatsApp feature was discovered by WABetaInfo, which is well-known for sharing information related to WhatsApp.

Document Preview is under test with WhatsApp on Android’s Beta Version 2.22.5.11.

It’s discovered that when a user is sharing images and videos as documents, the recipient will be able to peek into the document’s contents.

At the moment, sharing documents showcases the type of document and its name to general users.

But the current version displays a somewhat blurred preview.

We’re hoping that it will improve once it is an updated version on WhatsApp.

This feature will enable more easily sharing photos and videos from documents.

It’s also similar to the way users can view a preview of a PDF file transmitted through Meta’s messaging service.

This brand-new option is being tested by some beta users and will be available shortly to users of all ages. However, the exact date of the launch is still unknown.

For those who aren’t aware, WhatsApp is seen testing various features.

Recently, WhatsApp was caught trying to include a cover picture and a profile image.

The quality is currently being tested on the Business accounts.

In the future, WhatsApp is also anticipated to introduce a new section for Communities for admins of groups to manage their groups from one location.

Additional features such as the updated contact information section and a camera-specific UI, and more are anticipated to be added to the public this year.

Therefore, keep an eye on us for more details. We’ll keep you informed as soon as it is implemented.
