Vivo X80, X80 Pro Global Launch Date Set for May 8

On May 8, the Vivo X80 series will sell in the world’s stores. The launch of Vivo phones was teased on the Vivo Malaysia Twitter account. A MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC powers the Vivo X80. 

The Vivo X80 Pro comes in two different versions, one with the Dimensity 9000 chip and the other with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, so you can choose which one you want. Both the Vivo X80 and the X80 Pro can charge quickly at 80W, which is the same for both phones.

 If you want, you can get the Pro version, which comes with 50W wireless charging. These two phones were recently released in China. They are called the Vivo X80 and the Vivo X80 Pro. In the X80 series, there are three different color options to choose from.

Vivo Malaysia’s Twitter account announced that the Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro were going to be released all over the world at the same time. The phones will go on sale outside China on May 8 at 3 pm MYT (12:30 pm IST).

Price of Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro

In China, the X80 series has already been sold there. At CNY 3,699, the Vivo X80 comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage. That’s about $43,200. There is an 8GB + 256GB model for CNY 3,999, a 12GB + 256GB model for CNY 4,399, and the top-end, 12GB + 512GB model for CNY 4,899. (roughly Rs. 57,300).

The Vivo X80 Pro, on the other hand, starts at CNY 5,499 (roughly Rs. 64,300) for the 8GB + 256GB model with 8GB of RAM. The phone also comes with a 12GB + 256GB option for CNY 5,999 (roughly Rs. 70,100) and a 12GB + 512GB option for CNY 6,699 (roughly Rs. 71,100). (roughly Rs. 78,300). When it comes to the Vivo X80 Pro, the Dimensity 9000 Edition, the price ranges from CNY 5999 (roughly Rs. 70,100) to CNY 6,699 (roughly Rs. 78,300).

It comes in three different colors: Black, Cyan, and Orange.

The Vivo X80’s features

In China, Vivo X80 runs on Android 12 with OriginOS Ocean on top. It has a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate. The global version of the Vivo X80 is expected to have the same features like the Chinese version.

 Under the hood, the phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC and can have up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM inside. In terms of optics, there is a three-camera system on the back of the phone with a 50-megapixel primary Sony IMX866 RGBW sensor and an f/1.75 lens with optical image stabilization (OIS). 

There is also a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 12-megapixel portrait camera on the back of the phone. This is how it works: The ultra-wide lens has an f/2.0 aperture, and the portrait lens has an f/1.98 lens.

There is a 32MP front-facing camera that can take selfies and video chats, and the lens on the front has an f/2.45 aperture.

The Vivo X80 can store up to 512GB of UFS 3.1. It has 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth v5.3, GPS/A-GPS, Infrared (IR) blaster, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. An accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor are all on the board. The phone also has a fingerprint sensor that is built into the screen.

Vivo has put a 4,500mAh battery in the X80, which can be charged quickly with 80W Flash Charge. It is also 164.95×75.23×8.78mm and weighs 206 grams.

The Vivo X80 Pro’s specs

The Vivo X80 Pro that comes out worldwide could have the same features as the Chinese version. The dual-SIM (Nano) Vivo X80 Pro runs Android 12-based OriginOS and has a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. 

The phone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, but it also has the Dimensity 9000 SoC. For the Snapdragon model, you can choose between 8GB and 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, while the Dimensity option comes with a standard 12GB LPDDR5 RAM.

Besides the 50-megapixel primary camera, the Vivo X80 Pro has three other cameras on the back: a 48-megapixel ultra-wide Sony IMX598 camera and an 8-megapixel portrait lens Sony IMX663. On top of that, there’s also an extra periscope-shaped ultra-telephoto f/3.4 lens.

The Vivo X80 Pro also has a 32-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.45 lens.

The Vivo X80 Pro can have up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage when it comes to storage.

It has 5G, 4G LTE, WiFi 6, GPS/A-GPS, Infrared (IR) blaster, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. In the Snapdragon model, you can use Bluetooth v5.2, but the Dimensity model has Bluetooth v5.3.

Among the Vivo X80 Pro’s many sensors are a proximity sensor and an accelerometer. There is also an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor on the screen.

This is the Vivo X80 Pro. It has a 4,700mAh battery that can be charged at 80W Flash Charge wired fast and 50W wirelessly. The phone is 164.57×75.30×9.10mm and weighs 219 grams. Finally, the phone has an IP68-rated build that is resistant to dust and water.
