Singapore Overtakes China As Top Source Of Cyber Attacks.

Suppose you hear to ask anyone about the country leading the cyberattacks globally. In that case, the answer is likely to be either China, Russia, or the United States, or maybe North Korea—and thus all—wrong.

However, Singapore has overtaken China and other very known countries to become the number one source of cyber-attack traffic. According to an internet data company report, Malicious internet traffic has nearly tripled in the country since the beginning of the year.

According to the same report, Singapore ranked first after being in fifth place for weeks. The rise is unexpected; however, these attacks are unlikely to originate all from computers located physically within Singapore but masterminded from other countries known of these types of cybercrimes.

To explain this, Singapore is one of the leading commercial hubs or financial centers in Asia, an essential gateway to the Southeast Asia market.
In recent years, Singapore has seen a tremendous increase in cyber attacks on governments, and institutions and universities have become a weapon of choice – and Singapore has not been spared the threat.

Therefore, to combat these threats, the local government has seen an increasing demand for broader solutions to holistically address cybersecurity needs, requiring a combination of identity management and governance, risk, and compliance solutions.
