Resident Evil 2 and 3 are Now Playable in VR with VRFocus

Resident Evil 2 and 3 are Now Playable in VR;  Virtual reality (VR) modders have created some fantastic work in the past with games like Alien Isolation and, more recently, MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries

The most recent release comes from creator praydog, who has released the VR-based mod New Years Day for Resident Evil 2 And 3.

The project was in development for a few months.

the praydog team uploaded the mods to GitHub, and allowed anyone with an Xbox or PC version of the horror survival game to return to the game with a new twist.

This time is boosting the thrills with VR’s capabilities to be immersive.

The modder made this happen through another project, framework, which can add 6 degrees of freedom (6DoF) VR compatibility to a wide range of RE Engine titles.

The process of bringing the Resident Evil video game into VR isn’t an easy feat simply because the majority of games are third-person.

VR is best  in first-person, especially when atmospheric horror is involve.

Therefore, Resident Evil 2 And 3 are played in the first and third, but the mod includes essential features such as complete gun control and weapon collision.

You can shoot and point as you would type in the VR shooter. You can also throw grenades and utilize the knife to inflict destruction.

Resi players recognize that the games usually have lots of cutscenes. Therefore, you’ll see sequences where you’ll switch between a first-person perspective and the different cameras that each game uses.

However, Resident Evil 2and 3 in VR look like worthy additions to the ever-growing roster of VR games.

It was first announced in 2017 when Resident Evil 7 Biohazard was released for PlayStation VR.

In the same year, you got the superb version of Resident Evil 4 designed explicitly for Meta Quest 2.

So are you excited to play Resident Evil 2 Or 3 in virtual reality?

There’s also more coming from the VR modders. In the news, as VRFocus revealed in December, veteran modder Luke Ross is working on the version of Cyberpunk 2077 that is scheduled to launch by the end of this month. For more updates on VR, mods are sure to keep checking this VRFocus.
