Ransomware Group Claims to Have Hacked Nvidia Has Been Counter-Hacked

Ransomware Group Claims to Have Hacked Nvidia:  Nvidia, a company that makes graphics cards, has been dealing with a cyberattack on its systems for a few days now, putting Nvidia‘s systems at risk.

In a twist of fate, the ransomware group that said they were behind the attack has been hacked.

Nvidia has said its development tools and email systems have been completely hacked.

People haven’t heard much about the attack yet from the company.

This isn’t the first time Nvidia has had its GeForce Now data leaked, but it’s still a bad thing.

Group called “Lapsus” has claimed to be behind the attack. Lapsus has posted screenshots and said that if Nvidia doesn’t pay up, it will give away proprietary source code and directory listings.

In the wake of this, Lapsus has had the ransomware attack that it blames Nvidia as if the company did it as a show of strength.

That Nvidia was behind the counter-hack hasn’t been proven or disproved.

A lot of information about GeForce came out after it was breached.

Nvidia and the rest of the tech world have seen this kind of attack before, and it’s not good.

Sony’s high-end games could be involved. The only time ransomware hackers who are responsible for
cyberattacks get to try their own medicine is when they get a taste of their own medicine.

Suppose you hear about a ransomware group that has already held a big company to ransom after a cyberattack being hacked by the group itself.

In that case, it might be a little satisfying for some people. Hackers can do a lot of damage in both the gaming and tech worlds.

Even a site like Koei Tecmo’s had to shut down because of its hack. Some groups can do things that even the best security can’t foresee, and they can do things like this.

Nvidia has been focusing on launching its new GTX 40 Series GPUs, so the use of hacking as a way to protect that data might not be out of the question, though it would be out of character for them to do that.

However, if Nvidia had hacked the ransomware group as a defense, the company would have been on Lapsus’ level.

Even though Lapsus was able to get into Nvidia’s systems, a company that is big enough to have a lot of cybersecurity, what it could do to the company and its employees are new.

Because Lapsus probably knew this attack was coming a mile away. It’s not very likely that it did, but cyber attacks can sometimes lead to even worse retaliation from the hackers who did them, like fighting fire with fire and starting a war.
