New Gameplay Trailer for PT-Style Horror Game MADiSON

It seems that now is an excellent time to be a lover of all things eerie. Those who prefer digital horrors will be spoilt for choice, with horror games dominating this year’s Summer Games Fest, including teasers for the recently revealed Aliens: Dark Descent and the highly anticipated The Callisto Protocol.

There’s also MADiSON, an upcoming indie game from Bloodious Games that just released a new teaser that’s not hesitant to flaunt its inspirations.

The new video, which DSO Gaming noticed, includes a quick rundown of some of the game’s plot aspects and a hearty dose of gameplay footage, all of which help sell the game’s horrors.

It’s no secret among those on the sidelines that MADiSON has significant PT vibes, aiming for that super realistic visual paired with a disturbing mood situated within the one place where people should feel comfortable, their own homes.

For those unfamiliar with the game, it works as every current first-person survival horror game does. For others, the real PT/Silent Hills connection seems old-fashioned.

To put it in a more current perspective, it seems to be continuing on the legacy of frightening horror games like Visage.

That game likewise drew inspiration from the cancelled Hideo Kojima / Guillermo del Toro project, but the significant distinction is that Visage was a finished product. The cancelled Silent Hills game seems to have left a significant void in the horror community.

One of the mechanics introduced by MADiSON is the usage of a camera. Bloodious’ project, like the PS2 Japanese horror game Fatal Frame, will need players to capture photos and solve riddles to proceed.

The new clip provides a disturbing glimpse into what’s to come, particularly for those who prefer horror games with psychological undertones.

With the release of Resident Evil 4 Remake, the genre is bursting at the seams with new releases and the return of old favourites.

It’s hard to tell why horror is so popular these days, but there are plenty of indie and major studio releases on the way. As previously said, it seems that today is as good a moment as ever to be a lover of horror games.
