Lost Ark is seeing an immense increase: Lost Ark is shaping a major Dub to Publisher Amazon Games.
SteamDB revealed that the hugely online game could secure the sixth spot in the most played game despite being in early access, just behind another well-known Amazon IP called New World.
An earlier statement by developer Smilegate might indicate that the chart-topping popularity of the game could be a pleasant delight to everyone involved.
The expense of localization and the lack of a market could be an issue for games that are an East Asian MMO like Lost Ark.
According to the director of the game Keum Kang Seon, 200,000 was the initial number of concurrent players for the Western player base; however, Lost Ark is now leading the list of concurrent players with over 500,000 players playing the game at the time of writing on February 8.
“If we can hold 50,000 to 70,000 simultaneous players 3 months after the release, we’ll be successful,” Keum Kang Seon told the Korean LOA ON Winter festival, which was held in December.
“Korean MMORPGs just aren’t that popular there [in the West].”
At this point, more than 1.2 million users are tuning into Twitch to see their favorite streamers play the game.
Asmongold, a famous World of Warcraft-turned-Final Fantasy XIV YouTuber, is streaming Lost Ark to a staggering 240,000 people, which might explain the current inflated interest in the game.
However, Lost Ark has been the second most downloaded game on the market in South Korea for quite some time, with more than 10,000 registered players.
Lost Ark saw a 2019 release date in South Korea and is getting ready for a worldwide release on the 11th of February.
