Employees of Meta was, previously called Facebook, are soon to be identified with a new name. We’re not saying that, but Mark Zuckerberg wants his employees to be referred to as Metamates.
In addition, Zuckerberg has recently created a new slogan for the company that reads, “Meta me, meta makes, me.”
Zuckerberg has made announcements about the latest developments within the company, along with the motto.
“Meta, Metamates, Me is about being responsible guardians of our company and its mission. It’s about the sense of responsibility we share for our success as a team and our colleagues. The focus is on taking care of our business and one another. The bottom line is that the values you choose to write aren’t just the words you type on a web page, but the things we hold each other to account for every day. I invite you to think upon these important values and how they affect you when we begin working to create the next chapter for our business,” Zuckerberg posted on his Facebook page.

Where did the expression “Metamates” come from?
The soon-to-be CTO of Meta announced in a Twitter post that Metamates was invented in the name of none other than the late Douglas Hofstadter, who is famous as an American writer and cognitive scientist.
After an employee emailed Hofstadter for suggestions, he coined the term after Facebook was changed to Meta.
The post also pointed out that the term refers to a naval term that Instagram uses for a time “Ship, Shipmates, Self.”
Meta mustn’t be the only tech company that refers to its employees differently.
Google refers to its employees as “Googlers,” and Microsoft calls its workers Microsofties.
Zuckerberg made the other announcements.
Zuckerberg added in his blog post that the company’s focus would move away from ” moving quickly” to “moving quickly together.”
Zuckerberg said it’s about moving quickly together, not just as individuals but also as a whole in a single direction.
Zuckerberg also advised employees to tackle the most practical issues even if the final results are not known for many years.
