To compete with the Realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition, the ROG Phone 6, and many other smartphones, Asus has finally unveiled their 2022 flagship, the Zenfone 9, which has the most recent Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor.
The phone advances the idea of a tiny smartphone, which is uncommon nowadays (much like the Zenfone 8). Here is a glance at what it has to offer.
Specs and Features of the Zenfone 9
Due to its small size, the Zenfone 9 aims to make using a smartphone considerably simpler. It sports a 5.9-inch punch-hole display and weighs 169 grams.
With two large camera housings in the rear, it attempts to go big (pun intended!) on the cameras. There is a multipurpose ZenTouch button on the right to access numerous operations with only one hand.
The phone is available in 4 colourways: Starry Blue, Moonlight White, Sunset Red, and Midnight Black. It features a “high-grip and anti-fingerprint” feel.
The 120Hz refresh rate, 112 per cent DCI-P3 colour gamut, up to HDR10+, and 1100 nits of peak brightness are supported by the 5.9-inch Samsung AMOLED display.
A Corning Gorilla Glass Victus layer is present. The Adreno 730 GPU is partnered with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC on the inside. Up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage may be installed.
The Zenfone 9 has a 50MP primary camera with a Sony IMX766 sensor, 6-Axis hybrid gimbal stabilization, and 22 OCL PDAF compatibility.
A 12MP ultra-wide lens with a Sony IMX363 sensor, a 113-degree field of view, and dual-PDAF are available.
Additionally, it has a 12MP front camera with dual-PDAF capability. Various functions are available in the camera section, including Portrait mode, Night mode, Light Trail (in beta), 8K films, and others.
The phone runs Android 12 and features a 4,300mAh battery with a 30W HyperCharge adapter.
It supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, two microphones with OZO Audio Noise Reduction technology, an improved high-tech vapour chamber cooling system, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, and a 3.5mm audio connector, and more. It also supports twin stereo speakers with Dirac HD Sound.
Cost and accessibility
The Zenfone 9 will be sold in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Indonesia, and other regions of South America for a starting price of €799 (about Rs 64,900).
There is currently no information on its availability in India; however, given that the Zenfone 8 was ultimately released (although tardily) there as the Asus 8z, there may be a chance!
