Krafton and Solana Labs collab to develop blockchain-based games and services.

After teaming up with Naver Z, a metaverse company, to create its own NFT platform, Krafton announced that it will now develop “NFT and blockchain-based games” with Solana Labs.

To develop new products in the metaverse era, Solana Labs has signed a business deal with Krafton, the company behind PUBG, BGMI, and PUBG PC.

Krafton partners with Solana Labs to develop Blockchain-based Games.

Krafton shared a blog post recently to announce its partnership with Solana Labs. According to the company, the partnership will help develop and promote blockchain-based services and games using its decentralized blockchain.

Solana Labs is a fierce competitor to Ethereum. It offers a fast and low-cost blockchain that allows for transactions at lightning speeds. Krafton will benefit from the company’s assistance to develop next-generation products and increase its market share.

Solana is a global high-performance cryptocurrency with high speed and low fees. It represents the best of Web 3.0 and its technologies.

KRAFTON will gain the insights it needs to accelerate its investments in and outputs of blockchain-based experiences through this collaboration, Hyungchul Park (lead executive of Web 3.0 Roundtable in Krafton) said.

According to The Verge, this partnership’s primary goal is to increase Krafton’s market share despite its falling share prices. According to reports, Krafton’s share price plunged in 2022 due to strong competition from Chinese competitors like Tencent.

The Korean giant is now looking to improve its market position with the new partnership with Solana Labs. This includes developing “play–to-earn” titles using blockchain technology.

It is unclear if Krafton will incorporate blockchain technology into its existing titles, making them metaverse-ready. It is possible that the blockchain-based services and games will not be available immediately, but it could take some time before they do. Stay tuned for updates about Krafton’s blockchain projects.
