India may soon get the new Xiaomi Pad 5.

When Xiaomi launched its Mi Pad 5 series (now called the Xiaomi Pad 5 series) in China last year, there was a lot of excitement. There were the standard Xiaomi Pad 5 and the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro.

Even though the company thought it would bring its new tablet offerings to India, it didn’t say anything until today. It has finally been said that the Xiaomi Pad 5 tablets will be coming to India, which will be a first for the country. There are some important things to look at below.

Xiaomi Pad 5 Series Is Launched in India

People in India who follow the Twitter account for Xiaomi India today saw the first teaser for the company’s upcoming tablet line in the country, even though it didn’t say much about the launch date or give any other information.

However, the tweet included a link to a dedicated microsite on its website, which had a timer. So, based on the timer, Xiaomi could announce the launch date and more information about its Pad 5 series on March 31, which is the same day that OnePlus will launch its OnePlus 10 Pro in India and the rest of the world.

One Twitter user said the Xiaomi Pad’s price in India would be less than Rs 25,000. Xiaomi said that customers “will not be disappointed with the price” when they buy it. So, we can expect the company to keep the prices of its tablets low when they first go on sale in the Indian market.

Mi Pad 5 Series: Key Specifications and Information

In the past, Xiaomi has already released the Mi Pad 5 and the Mi Pad 5 Pro in China. Both have an 11-inch 2.5K WQHD+ IPS LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz stylus sampling rate.

We already know what these devices can do and how much they cost.

This model has the Snapdragon 860 chipset under the hood, but it costs more. The Mi Pad 5 Pro runs on the Snapdragon 870 chipset, making it run faster. Both models come with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The standard model comes with LPDDR4x RAM. Even though the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro has an 8GB + 256GB version, it’s unclear if the company will make it in India. Another battery is inside the Pro model, which has an 8,600mAh battery that can charge at 67W. The standard model has an 8,720mAh battery.

Other than these, the Xiaomi Pad 5 series has 13MP rear-facing cameras. The Mi Pad 5 Pro has an extra 5MP depth sensor, though. The Pro model has Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, but the standard model has Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0. Both of the tablets come in three different colour schemes.

Watch Xiaomi because they will start selling tablets in India soon.
