Global Launch of Vivo X80 Series with Zeiss Cameras

Vivo introduced the Vivo X80 Pro and vanilla Vivo X80 in the worldwide market after the debut of its flagship-grade Vivo X80 series in China late last month. High-end Snapdragon and MediaTek CPUs, 120Hz LTPO AMOLED screens, ZEISS cameras, and other flagship-level features are included in the smartphones. So, let’s look at the specifics below.

Price and Availability of the Vivo X80 Series

The Vivo X80 series, which includes the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-powered X80 Pro and the Dimensity 9000-powered X80, has been released in Malaysia. The phones are expensive and only available in one RAM+storage configuration.

The Vivo X80 costs RM 3,499 (about Rs 61,829), while the Vivo X80 Pro costs RM 4,999 (roughly Rs 88,331). The gadgets are presently available for pre-order in Malaysia via Estore, Shopee, and Lazada, among other online retailers. While the Vivo X80 Pro has a Cosmic Black color choice, the X80 has an Urban Blue color option.

Specs and Features of the Vivo X80 Series

When it comes to the Vivo X80 and X80 Pro’s primary specifications and features, they share a similar design language and a circular camera module housed within a rectangular slab at the rear. Both smartphones use a Samsung-made 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Pro model has a QHD display with a maximum resolution of 2K, while the basic model has a Full HD+ screen.

The front of the Vivo X80 Pro and X80 has a top-center punch-hole 32MP selfie camera. The Vivo X80 Pro, on the other hand, has a quad-camera system with a 50MP Samsung GNV sensor with OIS, a 48MP ultra-wide lens, a 12MP depth sensor, and an 8MP periscope lens with OIS on the rear. The smartphone also has the company’s V1 + ISP technology, which uses AI to minimize noise and improve the photographic experience.

The regular X80, on the other hand, has a triple back camera system with a 50MP Sony IMX866 RGB lens with OIS (a first for a smartphone), a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 12MP depth sensor for portrait pictures. And both the X80 Pro and the X80 incorporate Zeiss innovations such as Zeiss T*coating, Zeiss Cinematic Bokeh, Zeiss Natural Color 2.0, a micro-gimbal mode, etc.

The Vivo X80 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, combined with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS memory. In China, the phone is also known as the Dimensity 9000. Vivo X80, on the other hand, is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor and up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.

The Vivo X80 Pro has a 4,700mAh battery that supports 80W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. The Vivo X80 has a lower 4,500mAh battery, but it still supports rapid charging.

Aside from that, the Vivo X80 smartphones support 5G networks, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 technologies, and NFC. Both variants are powered by FunTouch OS 12, which is based on Android 12. Stereo speakers, on-display fingerprint sensors, VC liquid cooling systems, and other features are included in the devices.
