Our Method

The Basis Approach

Thirty years of research have shown the approaches that help people work through bad days and function more effectively. A key part of taking care of one’s mental health is a guided conversation with someone trained in those approaches.

For Basis, the foundation of our approach consists of Motivational Interviewing and Structured Problem Solving. Over the last few decades, there have been over 200 clinical trials that support the efficacy of this approach.

Why does it work?

It's evidence-based and proven by over 200 clinical trials.
It can be delivered in relatively brief instances, and doesn’t require multiple sessions to work.
It delivers specifiable mechanisms of action.
It’s generalizable across many different situations.
It’s complementary to other treatment methods, including the use of medication.
Clients leave each session feeling lighter and more in control.
