About Apple’s iCloud Keychain

When Apple introduced iCloud Keychain with macOS 8.6, it evolved the password saving and management functionalities to the next level. The Keychain started saving passwords, private keys, certificates, credit cards, secure notes, and other confidential data files. It is now the built-in password management system for all Apple devices. Whatever website you visit using the Safari browser, you can save its account details through Keychain and later view it if you want.

The saved passwords and credit cards will sync through iCloud to your iPhone and other Apple devices. You can use the passwords saved in Keychain on websites compatible with the autofill feature. Or, you can just visit the Settings app on your iPhone and view the saved passwords and credit cards. All this is protected by your general passcode and Apple ID. The security and privacy offered by Apple are always the best in class.
