Jef leads our Basis band with years of show-stopping consumer technology experience. He was CEO at wireless photo start-up Eye-Fi from before their 2007 launch to the international retail distribution of its device and cloud service. Before that, he was GM of audio and gaming at Logitech, where he also worked in U.S. and EMEA marketing. He graduated from Purdue University with a B.A. in communications.
While not on center stage, Jef also gets his heart pumping from occasional hikes, Guitar Hero jam sessions and leaping fire at Warrior Dash extreme obstacle courses.
Marco Della Torre

Marco leads the rockstar team of engineers behind our science. A serial entrepreneur, Marco secured key patents for Emotiv Systems and BAM Labs, two of his groundbreaking consumer biotech startups. He received degrees in computer and biomedical engineering from the University of New South Wales in his home town of Sydney, Australia.
Marco knows how to spike his heart rate – be it sprinting through the Basis office, hitting the concert circuit or riding his motorcycle through the streets of San Francisco

Ethan gets stoked leading our product, design and customer support team at Basis. Prior to Basis, Ethan was an entrepreneur in residence at Trinity Ventures. Previously, he served as senior vice president of product for GREE International, where he led development of its mobile social gaming platform in the US market. Prior to GREE, Ethan was executive producer for the San Francisco studio of the social gaming company Playdom, where he launched two titles and drove studio operations throughout their acquisition by Disney. Ethan has lead or launched products in mobile, social, gaming, and search markets for over a decade, and is named co-inventor on several patents across those fields.
Ethan spends his free time catching waves at the local beaches. When not surfing, you may find him riding his bike, cooking at home with his family or traveling the world.

John oversees our extraordinary web engineering team here at Basis. He was most recently CTO at Urban Mapping, a leader in the geospatial data analysis and visualization space. Previously, John was VP Technology Architecture at AOL / Time Warner, working with the music and online service businesses to build new products and distribution models. John received a B.A. in Computer Science and Visual & Environmental Studies at Harvard University.
John also knows how to get his wellness on with water and wine. He swims, plays water polo and stand-up paddle boards as well as founded and operated a Napa winery for 5 years.
Chief Operating Officer

As COO, Bharat wears many hats here at Basis including leading our Sales and Marketing team. He joined the company from Electronic Arts as a 8-year veteran of the consumer entertainment space. As COO of EA Online, Bharat worked alongside EA’s amazing creative leads to improve online game experiences and monetize them. He also led mergers and acquisitions transactions for EA, working on a global scale, across private and public companies. Prior to EA, Bharat was an investment banker at Credit Suisse and DLJ in New York. Bharat received a B.A. from Middlebury College and M.I.A from Columbia University.
Bharat gets his pulse racing by snowboarding, surfing, playing tennis and navigating San Francisco’s gnarly traffic on his bike.

Chris guides the brainiac hardware team that creates the devices that track your wellness. Chris brings a wealth of consumer technology experience on the client and professional services side with brands such as North Face, Nike, Apple and most recently Flip Video. Chris received a master’s at MIT and its renowned Media Laboratory as well as B.S. in aerospace engineering from Boston University.
Chris keeps himself active with basketball, surfing, golf, and a steady stream of adventures with his young son.
